We may not be that easy to find, but here’s a few great reasons why you should probably hang onto us when you do! Is this too many posts centred around dating?? Hmmm. ANYWAYS, here’s the list.
1) We are a walking-talking travel encyclopaedia.
Seriously, got a travel question? Ask us. If we don’t know the answer someone in one of our multiple, travel-specific, FaceBook groups WILL. We know ALL the tricks to getting the best deals. Travel will never be better than when you’re dating a travel blogger.
2) You’ll never get bored.
A travel blogger’s life is generally in a constant state of flux. It’s impossible to get bored when things are always changing. We are forever trying new things, going new places and meeting new people. Our minds are endlessly expanding as we learn about different cultures and countries. We are kind of obsessed with learning and seeing new things. Just when you think you know us inside out we’ll surprise you will something like “Hey, I think I want to go live on a horse ranch in Argentina for the Summer”.
3) FREE STUFF.
Ok, sure, this is shallow, but hey! It’s a definite perk when we get to bring our significant others on trips with us for no or minimal cost. However, you KIND of end up paying in the amount of photos you’ll inevitably have to take of us. All in the name of the blog ๐ And there is always the possibility that we’ll end up talking about you ON the blog, but you’re ok with that, right?! *just sign this QUICK waiver*
4) We’re easy to buy for.
Anything involving maps, travel quotes, passport stamps or really just travel in general will go down VERY well. Plus we tend to not own much, so you’re pretty much guaranteed we haven’t already bought it for ourselves.
5) We will NEVER hold you up in an airport.
We’re like George Clooney in Up in the Air. Our suitcase/ backpack will never be over weight. We would sooner die than not have our liquids prepared in a clear bag! We got that shit DOWN.
6) We’re not really high maintenance in any way, shape or form.
Oh, you haven’t cleaned the house/flat in a month? Not an issue. I have literally shared a bunk bed with a cockroach. Anything seems clean now.
7) We have the BEST stories.
Hey, did I ever tell you about that time I sat on a wasp in the Amazon? or that time I thought I was going to die on a flight to Canada? no? Take a seat my friend!
8) You can introduce us to anyone, or leave us with a group of people we don’t know and we’ll be just fine.
No need to worry about us at that party where we don’t know anyone! After years of travelling and constantly meeting new people, we are experts at talking to people we’ve never met before as if we’ve known them for years. Most likely, we’ll end up being best friends with the entire room in no time.
9) Not to be cocky but we’re usually a fairly good looking bunch (even though it’s personality that really counts I KNOW).
Months of sun gives most of us a decent healthy glow (myself excluded) and we are nearly always smiling. Mainly because we are so delighted with what we are doing with our lives. And hey, if you’re not already sold on the idea, we tend to smell like coconuts, sun cream and freedom. Yep. That’s a fact.
10) Last but not least it will be one of the most easy going relationships you’ve ever had.
You probably won’t have to meet the family, since we’re usually several countries away from them for quite some time! If you want to go off and do something or go somewhere, we don’t mind, it’s your life. We value our freedom SO much that we would never ever dream of trying to control yours.
If you liked this list you may ALSO be interested in a similar list I made when I was the non-travel blogger dating a travel blogger. Bit of a different perspective! I called it;
THE PROS AND CONS OF DATING A TRAVEL BLOGGER
Yeaaaah I mentally fistpumped to every point on this (excluding #9; I’m definitely more of a sunburnt sort). If I ever find myself single & looking again, I think I’ll just direct all potential suitors to this post.
Hahahah. SAME. I burn SO easily! Xx
This is so great, we as travel bloggers DO have the best stories!
That could be an idea for a series; #TravelStorySunday, haha!
I Love this!!
“we tend to smell like coconuts, sun cream and freedom” , just genious!
Thanks beautiful ๐
haha amazing! that’s what I think as well ๐ probably one of my favourite posts ever…

Awwww. So nice to hear! Glad you like it!
I so agree with number 9 ๐ ill add the best tanned skin and the Freedom! yeah!
Hahaaha. I’m glad someone has the tanned skin, because it ain’t me! hahaah
LOVE this! Sharing it on my Facebook page ASAP, haha ๐ “I have literally shared a bunk bed with a cockroach” – I’m dying!
For real. Hahaha. I named him! He was kind of cute. hahahaah.
This was a fun read! I pretty much relate to every point, especially about being easy to buy for. Its amazing how excited I get whenever someone buys be anything travel related as a gift!! Especially notebooks!
I have SO many notebooks but I still get excited about them! hahaha.
This is so spot on! Mr Ayla loves when we get freebies and he has to do absolutely nothing. Although I am gradually getting him to take more photos so at least he can have a bit of contribution ๐ Wish I had sun kissed skin every day though!
Hahaha I LOVE this!!! And it’s all so true, even the bits I’d never admit to out loud!
Haha I love all of these reasons! And you’re right, we value our freedom. A lot! Wouldn’t want to change it for the world.
Hi Tara!
I had a good laugh! Of course a travel blogger is the dream date for any one ๐ . Next post on the subject, why don’t you list the characteristics of the perfect date for a traveller blogger?
Loved the post!

That is a GREAT idea ??
Been seeing your lovely face everywhere lately and I’m a bit embarrassed it’s taken me this long to get around to reading one of your blog posts! Love your style and wit! Such a great read and I was chuckling the whole way through. Keep it up girlfriend! xx
Hahaha. Thanks so much! High praise ๐ xx
Hey Tara. Your blog is really cool and you have the best of stories!

What a cool list! Number 4 made me laugh the most โบ๏ธ?
Fellow travel blogger Kelly Maz from (http://kellyellamaz.com) sent this link to me and it is so spot on! Although I may beg to differ on the clean house bit. When I get home, I really don’t want to have to clean up after a messy boy. But in the grand scheme of things, we are pretty low maintenance. Happy travels and look forward to connecting more!
xx

Love this list! Yes, travel bloggers do have the best stories and never run out of things to talk about! Although if someone demands routine and generally dislikes venturing out into the unfamiliar, I suppose dating a travel blogger would be a downright nightmare.
